NORTHSIDE FANTASY CAMP DETAILS

Eligibility: Campers must be 30 years of age or older to participate. We make exceptions for Campers who are planning to play with a parent. Campers may be joined by their sons or daughters who are age 25 or older, however, no Camper under 30 will be permitted to pitch. There is no requirement that you’ve played the game before, Campers range from having played at the college level to never having played at all!

Team Assignments: Campers will be assigned to a team coached by two former Cubs players. Teams will be balanced based upon information submitted in your application. Every effort will be made to honor Campers’ requests to play together. Please include any such requests when completing the Camp Intake Form. Teams will be introduced at Sunday’s Opening Reception.

Equipment: Northside will provide baseballs, batting helmets, bats, and catcher’s equipment. Campers need to bring their own gloves and baseball shoes. Metal cleats are permitted.

Uniforms: “Rookie” Camper Package registration fee includes a personalized authentic Cubs home uniform, away jersey, pants, belt, socks, and fitted cap. If you are a fantasy camp “Veteran” and have uniform jerseys and pants from a prior Cubs fantasy camp and you do not want to order a new uniform, please select the “Veteran” Camper Package (bring uniform from prior camp) option when registering. Campers who are not ordering a uniform receive a $500 discount.

Games: Campers will play a seven-game “regular season” followed by a three-game tournament to determine final camp standings. The “regular season” will include three Camper-pitched games and four games facing a pitching machine. All games will be seven innings. Camper-pitched games will be “wood bat only” games.

Lodging:  Campers and Legends will be assigned to double occupancy rooms. Single room upgrades are available for an additional $700 fee. If you are planning to share a room with another Camper or Legend, please specify the name of that Camper or Legend on the Camp Intake Form when registering.

Weather: Of course we’ve submitted a request for a week of sun and mid-70s temperatures, however, in the event of rain, we have the flexibility to adjust our schedule, including potentially playing games under the lights.

Attire: Casual attire is always appropriate at Northside, including at our Opening Reception and Championship Awards Banquet.

Family Members and Friends: Families and guests are welcome to attend your games and all on-field activities. Your families and guests are also welcome to attend the Friday evening team dinners. For safety reasons, only Campers will be allowed in the dugouts or on the field during baseball activities. Morning meetings and clubhouse access are limited to Campers. Persons enrolled in the “Friends & Family” Package eat breakfast and lunch with the Campers and are welcome to attend the Northside Opening Reception, the Thursday evening Craft Brew and Pizza event, and our Championship Awards Banquet.

Camp Reviews

“Fantasy Camp is where I go every year to be with the best group of guys on the planet to play the greatest game on earth.” – Joe Chambliss

“As a veteran of 15 camps, I can tell you there is nothing like the Fantasy Camp experience for a baseball fan. When you walk in the door to your first camp, you are in awe of your coaches and feel like a kid in a candy store. Then, after a week of playing ball, sharing stories, hanging out in the clubhouse after games … you have bonded as a team. The friendships I have made through camp, both with campers and coaches, will last a lifetime!” – Scott Marks

“Fantasy camp is THE ‘playcation’ for everybody who either grew up playing baseball or just loved watching the sport.

That moment you first walk into the clubhouse and see an authentic jersey with your name on the back stays with you forever. Then, by the time camp wraps, you’ve made friends for life – both with your fellow campers and the former pros!

Camp is the perfect blend of social and physical activity. From the stories you hear in the clubhouse to the memories you make on the field, it will be everything you hoped for and much, much more.” – Kevin Cashman

“Baseball fantasy camp is where I met my best friends. Playing ball together and dealing with the aches and pains drew us closer together.  The incredible amounts of laughter made us a family.  You really, really don’t want to miss out on this!” – Bob Farinelli – Veteran of 22 camps
